simpliqra

Six ways we support a live show

  • Multi-camera vision mixing

    Multi-camera vision mixing

Our vision mixers cut live multi-camera shows for concerts, festivals and stage events. They follow the script or the music, keep shot changes clean and stay in step with the director throughout.

  • Live streaming production

    Live streaming production

We carry a live event from the stage to online audiences. That covers encoding, on-screen graphics and constant monitoring of the outgoing stream, so problems are spotted before viewers notice them.

  • Control room design and fit-out

    Control room design and fit-out

We plan and install compact control rooms and production decks to suit a venue or studio. Layout, cabling, monitoring and operator comfort are worked out with you before anything is fitted.

  • Outside broadcast crewing

    Outside broadcast crewing

Technical crews for temporary control rooms at festivals, parties and large stage productions. We arrive with a kit list, set up on site and stay until the last camera is wrapped.

  • Replay and graphics operation

    Replay and graphics operation

Operators for instant replay, lower-third graphics and on-screen information during live shows. Names, scores and captions reach the screen at the right moment and match the programme running around them.

  • Production management and cueing

    Production management and cueing

Show callers and producers who keep cameras, sound and stage cues running to the script. They talk the crew through each cue so everyone knows what comes next.

In detail

Multi-camera vision mixing

This service suits organisers of concerts, festivals and stage productions that film with several cameras and need the live cut handled by someone who stays composed. The mixer works from a camera plan and a running order agreed in advance.

Multi-camera vision mixing
Camera plan and shot list
Before the day we go through camera positions, lenses and the shots you most want. A clear plan lets the mixer anticipate cuts rather than react to them.
Rehearsal and line check
Where the schedule allows, the mixer joins soundcheck or a run-through to learn the performers and test every camera feed on the switcher.
Live cutting
During the show the mixer takes direction over talkback, or follows the script and music, keeping changes smooth and framing consistent through the whole programme.
Recording and handover
We can record the programme output and any isolated camera feeds if agreed beforehand. Files are handed over in the format and on the media you request.

Send us the running order, venue plan and the number of cameras as early as you can. Tell us who directs and how the output will be used.

How it works

From first enquiry to the final cue

Every job follows the same sequence, whether it is one operator for an evening or a full temporary control room. You always know who is responsible for each stage and what happens next.

  1. Enquiry

You contact us through the contact page with the event, date, venue and what you want on screen. We reply with questions rather than assumptions, so the brief is complete.

  2. Quotation

We send a written quotation listing crew, kit and hours. Once you confirm it in writing, we hold the date and begin planning.

  3. Planning

Our production manager builds the kit list, crew schedule and signal plan, and agrees cue sheets and camera positions with your director or producer.

  4. Set-up and rehearsal

The crew arrives early, builds the deck or control room and tests every feed. A rehearsal or line-up with performers settles timings before doors open.

  5. Live and wrap

We run the show to the script, then strip out the kit and hand over recordings. An invoice follows, payable by bank transfer.

What clients say

  • The vision mixer arrived early, read the running order carefully and cut our two-night festival stage without a single wrong shot that I noticed. The crew stayed calm when a band overran, and the director never had to raise their voice.

    Marianne PlowrightFestival organiser, Suffolk
  • We had never streamed a concert before. Callum set up the encoder, watched the outgoing feed all evening and told us plainly when a connection needed attention. Viewers watched from start to finish and we heard no complaints about the picture.

    Stephen GarrityVenue manager, Norwich
  • Our hall needed a small control room that volunteers could actually use. The design was sensible, the install tidy, and the training afterwards meant we were running our own shows within a couple of weeks.

    Elaine ThorburnTheatre trustee, Colchester
  • Hannah's kit list and schedule arrived a week ahead and matched what turned up on the day. The cueing was clear over talkback, and a late change to the running order was absorbed without fuss.
